Swap (rollover)

Interest charged or paid for holding a position open overnight.

It reflects the interest rate difference between the two currencies in the pair. Depending on your trade direction it can work for or against you.

Swap is applied at the broker’s daily cut-off; on Wednesday it is usually tripled to cover the weekend. If you day-trade and close before rollover, you do not pay it.
